Clay: Inherently Feminine
Emily Fraser is a ceramic artist living and working in London, with femininity at the forefront of her practice.
Emily explains her connection to ceramic’s:
“For me, clay is inherently feminine. She reflects what I know to be a woman and stands for all I want to be. Clay is brittle and fragile, yet profoundly strong. She is soft and listening, fleshy and malleable, skin sensitive to the touch. She responds and contorts to the pressing, prodding, and probing of fingers. Yet despite all odds, she is resilient- undergoing immense manipulation and metamorphosis, emerging victorious.”
